The house by the river

These images are from the amazing, jaw-dropping location of our class picnic last week. I’m trying to learn the special features of my Corel Paint Shop Pro and thought I’d take a stab at assembling a collage. It’s not as easy as the mosaic maker on Big Huge Labs, but I like the option of rectangular rather than square collage pieces. In case you’re wondering, “Where are all of the people?” the story is that I never include images of people in my blog without their permission. But here’s one at a distance. Isn’t this place something else? The side of the house that you see in the photo below all face the river, where a bunch of us cooled off with an afternoon swim.

High-heeled Athletics Make for Good Entertainment

The guys in the dorm made up this game of TennisBall (the ball is a tightly matted wad of paper and masking tape). When they asked if I’d like to try my hand at it, I set down my bottle of Kombucha (a healthful fermented tea beverage that was first created in Tibet) and got right into the game. Fortunately, it was only a matter of hitting a home run — no bases or running around were required.

A Dream Box kinda Day

Two friends and I gathered around a dining room table for a day of collecting inspiring photos and assembling Dream Boxes, which are like 3-dimensional vision boards. What could be more fun than playing with pretty pictures and talking about how one’s passions might become one’s livelihood? A fabulously inspiring day, including lunch and mid-afternoon chocolate.

How to forget the heat: go on a garden tour

We’re in the middle of a heat wave here in New England. But the temperature was absolutely forgotten while visiting the home and garden of a new friend.

Sh’es created so many inviting places to sit for a chat or to listen to the dragonflies.
